      From Madeira Airport to Funchal by car:

      Leave Madeira Airport and follow the signs for Funchal.
      Join the VR1 expressway heading west towards Funchal.
      Continue on the VR1 for about 20 km.
      Take the exit for Funchal / Centro.
      Follow the local road signs to your hotel or final destination in the city.

      The drive usually takes around 20–25 minutes, depending on traffic.
